Deducto turns photos of receipts into a tax-ready expense spreadsheet. Snap a receipt, and the vendor, date, amount, and tax category are extracted automatically.
No. Deducto starts working straight away — no sign-up, no email required. Your first 4 scans are free. Creating an account (Settings → Create a free account) is optional and only needed if you want to reach your receipts from another device. After the free scans, Deducto Pro unlocks unlimited scanning and Excel export for $39.99/year.
Tap the receipt in your Receipts list. Every field — vendor, date, amount, and tax category — is editable. Saving marks the receipt as verified.
On the Receipts tab, tap Export. Deducto builds an Excel (.xlsx) spreadsheet of all your receipts and opens the share sheet so you can send it to your accountant, save it to Files, or AirDrop it.
Settings → Manage tax categories. You can rename, remove, and add categories — new scans are sorted into your custom set automatically.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Deducto Pro → Cancel. You keep access until the end of the paid period.
Your original receipt photo is stored securely in your private account and is only used to read and display your receipt. It is deleted automatically when you delete the receipt, or when you delete your account.
In the app: Settings → Delete account & all data. This permanently removes your account, every receipt photo, and all extracted data from our servers. It cannot be undone.
Deducto currently supports US tax categories (Schedule C style). More countries are on the way.
Deducto Pro is designed for unlimited everyday use — scan as many receipts as your work generates. To keep the service fast and abuse-free for everyone, very high volumes are rate-limited: up to 100 scans per day and 400 in any rolling 30-day period. A typical freelancer scans 25–35 a month, and a tax-season catch-up still fits comfortably. If you legitimately need more, email us.
If you created an account: on the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? — we'll email you a 6-digit code you can use to set a new password directly in the app.
